teD has nested itself at the Factory Place Arts Complex in downtown Los Angeles since 2005. As the Studio continues to evolve, so does the neighborhood as noted by Sam Lubell:

"The Arts District, sandwiched between downtown Los Angeles and the concrete expanses of the Los Angeles River, is part of the city's industrial core. The area, formed as a Business Improvement District (artsdistrictla.com) in 2006 looks forbidding at first: a no-man's land of factories, cold storage warehouses, cracked streets, peeled paint and broken glass. But for an increasing number of people it has also become one of the city's most appealing, and special, hangouts, as the district has exploded with restaurants, bars, galleries and boutiques — not to mention artists, who've gobbled up new factory studios and lofts, and often use streetside walls and storefronts as their canvases. Visitors should take an intrepid attitude, though: many places appear derelict outside but reveal savvy and often well-designed surprises within."
