Our Story What makes the teD studio the creative think-tank that it is, are its people. We have thinkers and designers from the business world, the fashion industry, the graphic design community, computer science as well as architecture to name a few. The design process is not an element within one construct or individual but rather an amalgamation of thinkers from all disciplines. We believe that design is an art with a language of its own.

Our Story

What makes the teD studio the creative think-tank that it is, are its people. We have thinkers and designers from the business world, the fashion industry, the graphic design community, computer science as well as architecture to name a few. The design process is not an element within one construct or individual but rather an amalgamation of thinkers from all disciplines.

We believe that design is an art with a language of its own.

Tammy Edmonds, founder, CEO and creative director at tammy edmonds DESIGN (teD), brings an integrated design philosophy to her practice that has allowed this SBE, WBE certified design studio to build a reputation for service-oriented design solutions honed from Edmond's seventeen + years of interdisciplinary experience. Ms. Edmonds' extensive portfolio boasts award-winning commercial and civic interior design projects, large-scale fine art installations and graphic designs for the retail and corporate sectors. Since 2004, teD has cultivated a diverse clientele that includes global brand leaders and innovators in the finance, corporate, architectural, institutional and automotive arenas. Additionally, teD's residential clientele represent an elite list of tastemakers with an affinity for Edmonds' original and fresh approach to design. Previously, Edmonds led the Architectural Division as the Director of Design and Communications at CTEK, a multi-industry engineering and fabrication firm, specializing in the transference of technologies and materials from the automotive and aerospace industries to applications in architectural design. At CTEK, Edmonds was responsible for overall corporate communications, brand identity, business development and project and account management. Her role also included Team Leader in a multi-discipline environment that required her poise in areas such as fabrication and construction details, engineering analysis, rapid prototyping, digital production and material research and development. Future of Design An active voice in the design community, Edmonds is a frequent contributor to contemporary design literature. Her most recent collaboration with the Yale School of Architecture involved co-authoring an article on digital technology and fabrication techniques for its 36th Annual publication of Perspecta. Also in 2004, Edmonds co-authored, with Los Angeles Times writer, Mary Stayton, The Fountains of Bellagio, a visual documentary of the making of the famed WET Design icon. Edmonds has always been active in giving back to scholastic institutions and often provides students with the opportunity to collaborate on real-world architectural projects. During her years at CTEK, a multi-industry engineering and fabrication firm specializing in Automotive, Aerospace, Architectural and sculptural Fine Art applications, her projects with students and faculty include: the Southern California Institute of Architecture, the Department of Architecture at KTH, the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm Sweden, Department of Architecture MIT School of Architecture and Planning and the Art Center college in Pasadena. By hosting student tours, donating materials, and giving students the chance to experience digital fabrication capabilities, Edmonds inspired new generations - much as she was inspired by mentors at crucial stages of her design education. Now, with her own design studio, she continues to offer young designers not only exciting new insights - but basic skills that enable great design to emerge. Tammy Edmonds resides in Los Angeles, California and holds a B.A. in Interior Design from Washington State University, with a minor in Business Administration and an Associate of Arts degree in Marketing from Highline Community College. A native of Baden-Baden, Germany, she is fluent in English, German and is currently studying French.
